  3. Not all, or even many Jews, would agree with my definition. The great thing about 3000 years of history though, is its easy to find precedents (for nearly any position!)

    Still, I quite admire Christianity's monastic tradition. I sometimes wish I could be a Jewish monk, but the Essenes died out so long ago.
